A technological material easy, quick & cheap to maintain
In areas characterized by a warm and damp climate and sea-air, glulam can be easily used indoors, with no need of maintenance operations.
For external elements covered by a roofing structure, a scheduled maintenance is necessary. Outdoors glulam structures can be used thanks to particular technical solutions that have to be applied in the production and in the design stage.
Glulam structures long exposed to sun, rain and sea-air require frequent maintenance operations (at least once a year). Maintenance is very quick and cheap. It consists in cleaning the surface with water and in applying a protective transparent filler (1 liter/10 sqm). In this way the beams maintain a good look and above all they are protected against UV-rays.
