A technological material with high thermal & chemical stability
Timber has got a low thermal conductivity: it is neither too warm nor too cold, therefore it cannot be warped by the variability of climate. It is not like steel that expands when heated and reduces when cooled, it does not cause damage to the covering system.
Glulam absorbs and releases humidity according to the environment needs. With the passing of time small crackings can appear on the structure. They are the result of its natural behavior and hence they do not damage the structure itself. These crackings do not appear indoor.
Contrary to other metals and to the reinforced concrete, timber is not subjected to corrosion thanks to its chemical and cellulosic structure and to its ability to live in places characterized by a massive presence of alkaline and acid elements.
